Nichole’s Biography
After college, I started out my career instructing with Peggy Kirk Bell at Pine Needles Resort in North Carolina, and also had the opportunity to work during the 2001 U.S. Women’s Open. During the Golf Faris, Mrs. Bell holds at Pine Needles, I had the opportunity to instruct with 60 different PGA and LPGA Instructors. This experience helped me establish my own teaching philosophy and style of teaching. Working at River Run Country Club was my first experience at a private facility. Building the Junior Program and the Ladies Program at River Run C.C. in Davidson, North Carolina was my first priority. During my second season, I entered 3 of the juniors from the River Run Jr. Program in a Pro-Jr. Tournament, and we placed 5th. This was the first time we had ever attended this tournament in Pinehurst. In 2004 I made the big move over the pond to Heidelberg, Germany to fulfill the role as Assistant Manager for the U.S. Army Europe HQ Golf Course. I felt fortunate to be able to work with not only an American membership but a German membership as well. In the spring of 2004 I started the Play Golf America Program in Heidelberg and I was able to instruct golf lessons in “Deutsche”, German. I have also been a Golf Instructor and a Head Golf Professional at Basin Harbor Club, a 4th generation family owned resort on Lake Champlain in Vermont. In 2007, I moved back to Iowa and started my own business, Field of Swings. I contract myself out to golf facilities that do not have a PGA Golf Professional to offer lessons. Some of the golf facilities I have taught at are: Golf Etc. for Women, Wakonda Club, Copper Creek G.C., Indian Creek C.C., Cedar Pointe G.C., and The Des Moines Driving Range. I have also been a Guest-Speaker for Women’s Leagues, and have given several golf clinics at other golf courses in Central Iowa. I really enjoy promoting the game of golf to all kinds of people from all walks of life.
Goals My goal as a PGA Golf Professional is to promote the game of golf while making it a fun learning experience for any level of golfer. It is important to give the student enough motivation and understanding of their golf swing and game, so they always leave the lesson with positive expectations. I will help each student understand the importance of keeping the mind and body at ease during the golf swing, as well as understanding cause and effect. Also, I will explain the analysis of their swing on the student’s level of understanding and convey it in their learning style whether it is by pictures, analogies, or other means of communication. Most importantly, I will always be available to my students or anyone else who is interested in the game of golf.

I grew up in Osceola, Iowa, and was a member of the Clarke Community Girls Golf Team. My senior year I had an achievement that went down in the books at Clarke Community. I made it to The Iowa High School Girls State Championship. After high School, I attended college and played golf for four years at Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC. In 2001, I graduated with a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, and a concentration in Professional Golf Management, and I also brought home a ring from winning a NCAA Championship my senior year.
